False Liebe is a German television film by Judith Kennel from 2014. It is the ninth episode of the crime series Under Other Conditions with Natalia Wörner in the lead role. The film was broadcast on ZDF for the first time on February 10, 2014 and had a preview three weeks before the official broadcast date at Gottorf Castle .

action

Commissioner Jana Winter has not yet fully processed an incident in a parking garage where she did not react professionally enough, the next case is already waiting for her and her colleagues. The clerk at a museum was found murdered in a storage room. The mentally handicapped Christoph Kramer, who works in the castle gardening shop and knew the victim, is suspected. He suffers from cerebral palsy and is looked after by his sister, with whom he also lives. Both inherited large fortunes from their parents and are actually economically independent. For him, work in the nursery should be more of a therapy than a means of making money.

After the museum director is seriously incriminated by an employee and comes under suspicion, Rike Kramer suddenly appears with her brother at the police station to make a statement. With a nod, Christoph Kramer admits that he had something to do with the death of his colleague. For Jana Winter, this confession comes too suddenly. She thinks Rike Kramer is the perpetrator because she knows that her brother would not be held criminally responsible. Since she has been looking after her brother for over twenty years and this care has become her only purpose in life, she couldn't bear that he had been interested in his pretty colleague for some time. He gave her presents and stopped taking some of his medicines.

To get Rike Kramer to confess, the inspector uses a trick. She can persuade a young employee of the museum to meet Christoph in secret. This arouses jealousy in his sister again and Rike Kramer reveals himself in the end.

Reviews

Thomas Gehringer from Tittelbach.tv wrote: In this “ninth case of the ZDF crime series 'Unter Other Circumstances', Jana Winter struggles with private concerns about her son Leo and a large number of suspects. The mix isn't right. The criminal case in which there are a few too many coincidences suffers from the private storyline. An uninspired production, not a highlight of the series. But (again) a ray of light: Martin Brambach in the role of Jana Winter's boss. "

Focus.de gave a similar assessment , but also said: "Family scenes are the stronger moments in the film" and "There are some successful, even humorous scenes." "The wintry landscape on the Schlei in the far north forms the melancholy background."

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm rated it positively and wrote: "The staff in this local color thriller is a bit exaggerated, but the staging is pleasant and the case exciting." Conclusion: "Cool perpetrator riddles with heated heroine."

Matthias Hannemann from the FAZ said: “One thing is certain: this well-rehearsed television team is one of the most convincing in the country. Natalia Wörner as a struggling, imploding inspector, Ralph Herforth as angular Hamm, Max von Pufendorf as sleek Jessen. "
