Catrin Striebeck (born April 18, 1966 in Vienna ) is a German actress .

Life

Catrin Striebeck was born in Vienna, where her parents, the actors Peter Striebeck and Ulla Purr , were part of the Burgtheater ensemble at the time . The center of her life is Hamburg . Her younger sister Janna Striebeck is also an actress.

She left school at the age of 16, spent some time in Spain and then studied drama at the Max Reinhardt Seminar . Her artistic focus is the theater; She played in Mannheim, Stuttgart, at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , at the Volksbühne Berlin and as a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg . From 2009 to 2016 she was a member of the ensemble at the Vienna Burgtheater.

Catrin Striebeck played her first film role in 1991 in the cinema production Mau Mau by Uwe Schrader ; she embodied one of the main characters here, the animation girl Rosa. She also appeared in the award-winning film Against the Wall by Fatih Akin .
