The nameless girl is a television film produced by NDR from the crime series Tatort , which was first broadcast on April 15, 2007 on Das Erste . It is the 663rd episode in the television series. It is her 10th case for the Chief Commissioner of Criminal Investigation of Lower Saxony, Charlotte Lindholm ( Maria Furtwängler ).

action

Little Frederik Mende , who had a severe form of ADHD, died in Osnabrück . He had apparently choked on a piece of bread and couldn't breathe.

Chief Detective Charlotte Lindholm takes a pregnancy test that turns out positive. She previously had an affair with a Spaniard whom she met during a training course. Lindholm is called to Osnabrück to investigate the murder of an unknown young woman together with Detective Inspector Suzanne Krohn. The dead woman was discovered in a wagon at the train station by factory worker Peter Staffer. The inspectors found a handcrafted woven scarf next to the woman's clothes. Lindholm then goes to a weaving course at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences and learns from Professor Richard Voigt that the dead girl had taken part in his course. The dead woman is Carol Stern from Ireland. Carol's roommate, a young single mother, tells the inspector that Carol worked as a babysitter for the Mendes. In an interview with Jürgen Mende, she learns that Carol did not show up for work on the day his son died.

According to new investigations, Carol was no older than sixteen. Commissioner Krohn explains that no Carol Stern of this age and profile has been reported missing. However, Mika Mende, the older brother of the late Frederik, tried several times to call Carol before her death. Mika works at the train station factory where Carol's body was found.

In a conversation with Frederik's parents, Simone Mende tells the inspector that her deceased son was an indigo child . So she gave him methylphenidate , which would have pacified Frederik. However, she discontinued treatment with the drug and replaced it with alternative medicine. Jürgen Mende claims to have asked Carol to continue to give Frederik the methylphenidate. When Lindholm went to Hanover to tell her roommate Martin Felser about her pregnancy, she found Suzanne Krohn, who had stayed at Felser's, in her apartment. To find out whether Frederik was molested before his death, Lindholm had the boy be exhumed . Due to a failure by Commissioner Krohn, the exhumation is arranged without the parents' knowledge.

Mika Mende rides his bike to Professor Voigt's house at night and hides Carol's sought-after bag in his garbage can. Voigt catches the boy doing it and calls the police. The girl's identity card is in the pocket. Her real name is Liz O'Dovan and she wanted to fly back to Ireland. Mika claims that Voigt put the bag in the Mendes' garden to pin the murder on the family. He tells how he observed that Liz went into his house with the professor. Two days later she ran out again with a torn dress.

In the meantime, Krohn has found out that Voigt has often taken bed and breakfasts with the O'Dovan family in Ireland and had also paid for the plane ticket for Liz. Voigt claims that Liz fell in love with him in Ireland and therefore followed him to Osnabrück. Lindholm learns from a track worker that the tracks behind the Mendes' house had been repaired the night Liz was murdered.

The coroner explains to Lindholm that Frederik's death may have been helped by someone else. In addition, he did not find any methylphenidate in the boy's body. Lindholm then drives to Jürgen Mende. Mende confesses that he forcibly pushed the bread into his son's mouth until the boy suffocated. When Liz came to work, they both got into an argument in which the girl fell to the ground and died of her injuries. He put her body on the train that was on the tracks behind the house. Mika, who overhears his father's confession unnoticed, then runs towards a passing train. His father can stop him just in time from throwing himself onto the tracks. Jürgen Mende is taken away by the police.

background

The shooting of The Nameless Girl took place from August 29, 2006 to September 28, 2006 in Hanover, Osnabrück and the surrounding area. In Osnabrück, the film was shot at the technical college and the university .

Reviews

Gutmann wanted to show little people who fight to the limit without the usual set pieces such as alcoholism or domestic violence. He succeeded impressively, thanks to an outstanding ensemble. "

- Kathrin Buchner : Stern.de

"Worth seeing. Moving family drama with an angelic, pregnant heroine. "

- Franz Solms-Laubach : welt.de

"A courageous and fascinating attempt by the NDR to leave the familiar 'crime scene' paths."

“'The crime scene - the nameless girl' is a courageous and fascinating attempt by the NDR to leave the familiar 'crime scene' paths. The otherwise cool and confident Charlotte Lindholm makes mistakes and appears fragile; Furtwängler's idea of pregnancy turns out to be extremely attractive. The guest actors were also excellent: above all Martin Brambach. "

Awards

Maria Furtwängler received the German Television Award 2007 in the category “Best Actress” for her performance in the Tatort episodes Pauline and Das namenlose Mädchen .
