Martin Brambach (born October 28, 1967 in Dresden ) is a German actor .

Life

Brambach grew up in East Berlin with his mother, the costume designer Heidi Brambach, and the director Karlheinz Liefers . At the age of twelve he found out that he was not his biological son. The actor Jan Josef Liefers is his stepbrother. In 1984 he followed his mother to West Germany . He left high school in Hamburg without a high school diploma and went to the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum .

From 1985 he was a member of the ensemble of the Bochum theater . Engagements at the Schauspielhaus Köln , the Vienna Burgtheater and the Berlin Schaubühne followed . Brambach has been working as a freelance actor since 2001. He appeared in numerous film and television roles. Since 2016 Brambach can be seen for the MDR in the television series Tatort as chief police officer Peter Michael Schnabel .

Brambach lives with the actress Christine Sommer , her daughters and a son (* 2010) in Recklinghausen .
