action

On Christmas Eve, three "Santa Clauses" are arrested by the Munich police because it is believed that they are the long-wanted members of the Santa Claus gang. Although her plan was to go into a house that day disguised as Santa Clauses, her goal was not to steal something, but to bring something back. But don't dare to simply confess this to the Commissioner during interrogation. Since the interrogating Commissioner Karolin Bremer is actually in a hurry to get home in time to give the presents, she tries by all means to get the three of them to confess. However, this means that each of the three men reveals his life story to her in a more or less talkative way:

The widowed hospital pediatrician Fritz has been drawn to a colleague for some time, but is plagued by feelings of guilt because he still dreams of his deceased wife and has the feeling that he is unfaithful to her. But that is still relatively harmless compared to the strenuous double life of veterinarian Walter. In addition to his wife and daughter in Munich, he also has a fiancee and baby in Salzburg. With a great deal of ingenuity, he hurries back and forth between the two women without either of them having suspected anything. The situation changes when he has to confess to his fiancée that he cannot be with her at Christmas for “professional reasons”. After the resolute father announces to his Salzburg girlfriend that he expects Walter and his daughter to marry in the summer, Walter retreats and disappears. Back in Munich, he realizes that he can no longer endure this stress. But since he simply cannot choose between the two women, he has no solution to his problem.

Andi doesn't think much of taxable work, but he's not really a criminal. To illustrate this, he too tells his touching story. For lack of money, he had gradually brought little things from his girlfriend's apartment to the pawnbroker in order to have money for his horse betting. After he got his hands on an antique music box, which is of great importance to his girlfriend, she put Andi in front of her door. Andi's plan to buy back the music box and secretly put it back in his girlfriend's room came up with the help of his friends Fritz and Walter, but just as Andi had placed the clock under his girlfriend's Christmas tree, the police came and arrested all three.

After the three men are found to be innocent, they are released from interrogation. Andi is reconciled with his girlfriend, who rushed to the police station, and there is also a happy ending for Fritz, because his colleague confesses her love for him. Only Walter still doesn't know what to do when his wife comes to pick him up, and his Salzburg girlfriend and father also appear, so that the two women learn of Walter's double life. For fear of having to make a decision, he prefers to flee again.

Reviews

Tilmann P. Gangloff from Tittelbach.tv said appreciatively: “Despite the great wealth of action, the staging of the comedy, which is occasionally humorous in a very tangible way, is comparatively unturbulent. The most visually striking moments are some quick cuts, for example when the inspector is desperately looking for a substitute, or when Walter's change of location is reduced to the rest area where he usually swaps his car and clothes. The otherwise manageable speed of editing doesn't harm the film because it's great fun to watch the actors. The trio Korittke, Lauterbach and Stumph play the friendship scenes very credibly and with a lot of routine. "
