Jessica Schellack (* 1965 in Hamburg ) is a German screenwriter and television reporter .

Life

The daughter of the reporter and director Jürgen Roland had attended the German School of Journalism in Munich and then completed visiting courses in Berkeley and Madrid . Thanks to the contacts of her father, who worked closely with the NDR , she managed to get into television at the beginning of the 1990s. From 1990 to 1997 she was an external reporter for the Hamburg Journal of NDR regional television.

In addition, Jessica Schellack began writing scripts in 1995, since 1997 in collaboration with her colleague Kerstin Oesterlin, who is almost the same age. Shellac initially wrote mainly manuscripts for individual episodes of her father's series ( Peter Strohm , Stahlnetz , Großstadtrevier ), but this changed from the end of the 1990s when she also wrote the scripts for individual films - mostly comedies and romances. The majority of these lightweight films were made as commissioned work for ARD , produced by Studio Hamburg , Sat1 or the production company Regina Zieglers . In addition, she occasionally continues to work as a reporter for NDR television (e.g. on the flea market hunters program ). Jessica Schellack is currently one of the most successful German screenwriters.
