The main focus of the series is the protagonist Tanja Büsing. The series addresses typical problems young adults face, such as: B. Quarrel with parents, education, first love, unwanted pregnancies, etc.

In the first season Tanja has to deal with the suspicion that she may be pregnant. Later she is confronted with the death of her friend David, who dies in a boat accident, for which she blames herself. At the end of the season Tanja begins a relationship with Felix, while Bille, her friend, is pregnant by Jörg, Tanja's brother.

The second season, on the other hand, is more shaped by Tanja's entry into professional life. At first Tanja's high school graduation is in danger, then she starts an apprenticeship with a shipping company. At the end of the season she received the offer to go to New York for three months.

In the third season Tanja finishes her apprenticeship while the shipping company where she is studying is about to go bankrupt. Even at the end of this season and thus at the end of the series, Tanja is still not living in a financially orderly situation.
