action

The housewife Cleo Berger has been separated from her husband Hans, a dentist, for some time. When the police suddenly came to the door with a search warrant for a child’s birthday party, she found out about her husband’s fraudulent machinations. She has to leave the house with her three children (Tim, Emma and Sophie) and suddenly finds herself without an income. Since no other apartment can be found, the family moves in with Cleo's father.

The retired archeology professor is less than thrilled to have the family in his apartment full of antiques. Cleo herself has a difficult relationship with her father anyway, as she has felt abandoned by him since her mother's untimely death. She takes a job as a waitress and the relationship between grandfather and grandchildren improves. Cleo falls in love with his neighbor Jan, but distrusts him, as he goes out every day with different ladies and does not reveal anything about his job. Therefore, she suspects that he works as a call boy . Finally Jan can persuade her to have an evening together and he tells her that he is the gourmet critic “Tafelspitz”.

The relationship between Cleo and her father has improved and he has fallen in love with his neighbor Thekla Heiser. Ultimately, Cleo decides to stay in her father's apartment while he moves into another apartment in the same house with Thekla, so that the whole family can live under one roof.

criticism
