Eye for an Eye is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The report produced by MDR was broadcast on November 12th, 2017 on Das Erste . In this 1035th crime scene episode, Dresden investigators Sieland, Gorniak and Schnabel investigate their fourth case.

action

Heiko Gebhardt, department head of the insurance company ALVA, is shot in his office in Dresden in broad daylight from the building opposite. The commissioners Karin Gorniak, Henni Sieland and their boss Schnabel begin to investigate the case. They receive support from the forensic technician Ingo Mommsen.

Since the murder took place in the workplace, the investigation quickly focuses on the ALVA and its surroundings. Rainer Ellgast is a suspect within the insurance company because he has had ambitions to head the department for a long time and his alleged alibi turns out to be false. Angry customers of ALVA, whose claims were rejected by the insurance company, are also possible perpetrators. Among them are Harald Böhlert, who is sitting in a wheelchair after an accident, and his wife, who are represented by lawyer Martina Scheuring.

Gradually more and more alibis of the suspects are confirmed. When an ALVA event was shot at Ellgast at the Christmas market, he too fell out of the group of suspects and the commissioners had to intensify their investigations. While Sieland is shadowing the lawyer Scheuring, Gorniak finds out that she used to be an ALVA employee herself and that she quit after an insured person shot himself in her office for lack of benefits. At the last second, the inspectors can prevent Scheuring from killing himself in the building of the insurance company.

Reviews

“It can't be that this 'crime scene' around the actually promising team of investigators Sieland […], Gorniak […] and Schnabel […] has become another zero number, in which wit and anger completely run past each other. Acute television editor failure? Complete communications failure? Malicious MDR intrigue? A television company is probably nothing more than an insurance company. "

“'An eye for an eye' is something to guess at, and the regular viewers are happy. The plot is nothing special - the dialogues are some of the strongest in the series. Nobody can speak with a full mouth in such an atmospheric way like Alwara Höfels, who plays Commissioner Sieland. And the colleague Karin Gorniak [...] is the nice bitter counterweight to the Julia Engelmann sabotage that is being heard everywhere again. "

Audience rating

The first broadcast of Eye for Eye on November 12, 2017 was seen by 9.32 million viewers in Germany and achieved a market share of 25.7% for Das Erste .
