Peter Probst
Peter Probst (born December 22, 1957 in Munich ) is a German screenwriter and writer .
Life
Probst studied German , Catholic theology and Italian literature at the LMU Munich . With a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) he went to Rome in 1980/81 . The Literary Colloquium Berlin invited him in 1988/89 to his "theater author workshop". The play Höhenschwindel he created was premiered at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg . In 1989/90 Probst was a guest auditor at the 1st Screenwriting Workshop in Munich . He had already started working for television in 1982. In addition to features and documentaries, some of which he also directed, over 90 of his scripts have now been filmed. From 2003 he and his wife Amelie Fried wrote a series of children's crime novels, in 2012 the non-fiction book Verliebt, engaged, crazy. Why everything speaks against marriage and even more for it. From 1994 to 1998 Probst was a guest lecturer at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb), from 2002 to 2008 he had a teaching position at the Bavarian Academy for Television (BAF), from 2013 at the HFF Munich. In 2009 he was appointed to the jury of the Bavarian Film Prize and has been a member of the South Tyrolean Film Funding Committee (IDM) since 2016. Probst received numerous prizes for his screenplay Die Midamme - Auf Leben und Tod , including the TV Prize of Austrian Adult Education 2010, the Star of the Year from the Münchner Abendzeitung in 2011 and the Grimme Prize in 2012 . For Luis Trenker - The Thin Line of Truth , he was awarded the AZ star of the year for the second time in 2015.
Peter Probst is married to Amelie Fried and lives in Bavaria.
