Tod am Strand is a German television film by René Heisig from 2002. It is the second film in the ZDF crime film series Das Duo .
action
The body of a young woman is found on Timmendorfer Strand . Commissioner Marion Ahrens is initially investigating alone because her young colleague Lizzy Krüger is still on vacation. Since she is currently living in Timmendorf, it is inevitable that she still gets involved in the investigation.
During the autopsy of the body, traces of cocaine can be detected. Krüger and Ahrens therefore question the fiancé Friedel Terjong. The investigators learn from him that his girlfriend has changed recently. He allegedly did not notice anything about her drug use.
Fourteen-year-old Stefanie Voss disappears in the middle of the investigation. Parents and police are extremely worried and fear a serial offender. Although there is no evidence of a sexual offense, this cannot be ruled out. Lizzy Krüger learns from fifteen-year-old Fabian Bergius, whom she met on the beach and who trusts her, that he knew the dead young woman. Since he was surprised to have met her in Timmendorf, he secretly followed her to a boat. There, forensics can secure fingerprints of the victim as well as the boat owner Georg Münter and the drug dealer René Cords. The interrogation shows that the three had amused themselves. Drunk, the young woman climbed the mast of the boat and then fell down, breaking her neck. Fingerprints on the mast make this explanation of an unfortunate accident seem logical.
Meanwhile, Stefanie Voss is found drowned. Since Münter and Cords have an alibi at the time of the girl's disappearance, they cannot have anything to do with Stefanie's death. A suspicion falls on the hotel employee Roland Engel, who was noticeably often seen near the girl and who had also secretly photographed her. After SMS messages to Fabian Bergius are found in Stefanie's cell phone, the boy becomes a possible witness again. Lizzy Krüger finds out, however, that Fabian himself must have something to do with Stefanie's death. She meets him at the sea, where he is about to throw himself into the water. He confesses to the inspector that they both had an appointment on the beach and after Stefanie provoked and insulted him, he had lost his nerve and kept her head under water so that she would finally be quiet. Then she slipped lifeless into the sea.
