Gerald Alexander Held (born October 19, 1958 in Munich ) is a German actor .

Life

Alexander Held was a solo singer with the Regensburger Domspatzen during his school days and a talented soccer player who won the youth championships five times with the soccer club TSV 1860 Munich .

He completed his acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. Then Held started at the Munich Kammerspiele . Further engagements at the Staatsschauspiel Hannover , the Freie Volksbühne Berlin , the Theater Basel and the Salzburg Festival followed.

In 1993 Held was cast for a television film for the first time by director Klaus Emmerich in Morlock . Since then he has participated in numerous well-known cinema and TV productions, including B. Schindler's List by Steven Spielberg , Sophie Scholl - The Last Days by Marc Rothemund and The Downfall of Oliver Hirschbiegel .
