action

Part 1: The Herbalist

19th century: The pretty but wicked Amalie "Mali" nunmaker is expelled from Hessen to Bavaria for minor offenses. On her trip she met the wealthy heir and horse dealer Benedikt Hohenester; but since all of her money is stolen from her, the authorities put her as a cleaning lady in a monastery hospital. There, the herbalist Mali tries to cure a childhood friend who is sick, but she dies. Before this, Mali entrusts all of her money, which she should keep in the event of death. Having come across some money in this way, she travels to Munich, meets Bene again and marries him.

Part 2: The doctor farmer's happiness and end

When word of her healing ( urine inspection ) got around and more and more sick people sought help from her, the police noticed her and arrested her for “medical bungling out of profitability”. Mali uses a trick and opens a sanatorium in Mariabrunn together with a spa doctor. There the upscale society lets the "miracle healer" cure its little problems and Amalie soon knows no more borders.
