Stefan Traub
Stefan Traub is jazz - vibraphone , film composer and impresario of Jazz series and the Worms Jazz Festival Jazz 'n Joy .
Live and act
Traub was one of the first German vibraphonists to study his instrument with Gary Burton at the American Berklee College of Music . After his return from the USA he played for the first few years mainly with the Stefan Traub Quartet . Guest soloists in the quartet were u. a. Bill Ramsey or Wilson de Oliveira .
Between 1987 and 1989, Traub toured internationally as a vibraphone player with Pierre Moerlens Gong , where he met Benoît Moerlen, with whom he still works in the vibraphone marimbafone duo Akimbo .
From 1991 to 2011 Stefan Traub was artistic director of the Worms jazz festival Jazz 'n Joy and during this time presented musicians such as B. Bob Dylan , Simply Red , Albert Mangelsdorff , Larry Coryell, and John Abercrombie .
Traub turned to the composition of film music from 1992 and (until 2008) composed and produced the music for more than 40 films. In 2008 he is on tour with his SoundScapes & BlueShades program .
