Nobody Knows the Dead is a German television film by Wolfgang F. Henschel from 2006 based on a script by Andreas Föhr and Thomas Letocha . It is the 59th episode of the crime series Der Bulle von Tölz with Ottfried Fischer as the main actor in the role of Chief Inspector Benno Berghammer. It was first broadcast on December 19, 2006 on ORF 1 .

action

A dead person is found below the balcony of a luxurious villa. According to coroner Dr. Robert Sprung, the victim suffered several broken ribs, caused by a violent blow, and then fell over the parapet. The woman who discovered the dead is Berghammer's new colleague Nadine Richter. His long-time colleague Sabrina Lorenz is pregnant, which is why prosecutor Dr. Georg Lenz has arranged for a replacement.

The residents of the villa, Heinz Boosheim and his widowed sister-in-law Tanja, pretend not to know the man. With the help of the address book that the dead man had with him, the inspectors finally find out that his name is Patrick Plock and that he worked as a callboy in an escort agency that he ran with his wife Martina. According to Mrs. Plock, there has never been an affair in the 17 years of their marriage.

It is a thorn in the side of Heinz Boosheim that half of the villa belongs to the cleaning lady he hated by marriage, but that is what his late brother determined in his will. In addition, there is a monthly payment from the inheritance of 10,000 euros, which expires as soon as Tanja Boosheim gets involved with a new man. In order to legally get rid of his sister-in-law, Heinz Boosheim repeatedly approaches her deeply indebted son Rudi Schlattner and offers him a lot of money if he tells him what his mother had to do with Patrick Plock. After a down payment, Schlattner asks for time to think about it.

The inspectors discover a large number of pirated copies of a music CD from Rudi Schlattner. In order to avoid being reported, he reveals the matter with the will of his stepfather to them, but withholds Heinz Boosheim's offer. Schlattner says that he wanted to check whether it was worthwhile for his mother to forego the money from the inheritance, but nothing went between her and Patrick Plock. Tanja Boosheim now frankly admits that she had a relationship with Patrick Plock. It was love at first sight when he drove her in the rear in a car accident. They hadn't kept the relationship a secret because of the money, but because Patrick hadn't said anything to his wife yet.

Martina Plock fell from the clouds when she found out about her husband's alleged love affair. She forbids his name being dragged in the dirt.

Patrick Plock's bank statements show that he transferred money for two flights to a travel agency. He has also received a substantial sum from Heinz Boosheim. As it turns out, Plock was supposed to seduce Tanja in return so that she would lose her claims. But either the widow remained loyal to her husband after death or Plock lied to his employer because he fell in love with Tanja.

Heinz Boosheim finally reaches his goal because Martina Plock sends him evidence of Tanja's infidelity. He offers his sister-in-law to pay her the hotel for a month if she doesn't cause any problems and disappears on the spot. When he mockingly informs her that her son was almost ready to betray her for money, Rudi Schlattner gets enraged and runs after Heinz Boosheim, who is holed up in a room and calls Commissioner Berghammer. But before he can say anything more, Schlattner beats him up, drags the unconscious person into the sauna, locks the door and switches on the stove.

The commissioners have since found out that Patrick Plock has booked two plane tickets to Venezuela . They suspect that he tried to run away with his lover and broke into the villa to steal artifacts to finance the trip. Mrs. Boosheim could have caught and killed him.

Berghammer and Richter rush to the villa, arrest Rudi Schlattner and free Heinz Boosheim. After some persuasion, Tanja Boosheim confesses to having killed Patrick Plock. He only approached her in order to be able to steal the art objects. She hit him with a chair; he tripped and fell over the balcony. Benno Berghammer informs her that it is now going to be tragic: He has a document that Plock has booked two plane tickets, one in his name, the other in her name.
