It is the 15th episode of the crime series Der Bulle von Tölz with Ottfried Fischer as the main actor in the role of Chief Inspector Benno Berghammer. It was first broadcast on April 19, 1998 on Sat.1 .

action

At a traditional costume fashion show, Resi Berghammer observed how real estate dealer Raimund Wendl swayed into the swimming pool. Any help comes too late for him, he has a stab wound in his back; there are no witnesses for the act itself. A deer hunter's case is found at the scene ; In the victim's pocket calendar, there are capital letters with times - as it later turns out, the first letters of women with whom Wendl had a relationship, including the wife of District Administrator Siegfried Wallner and Katja Flemisch, the fiancee of the building contractor Anton Rambold, as well as the underage daughter of the notary Rudolf Wohlschlager. The latter seems to have the strongest motive, but for business reasons a living Wendl was more useful to him than a dead one.

Commissioner Benno Berghammer, who has fallen in love with Wendl's secretary Brigitte Neuhierl, accepts an invitation from the construction worker Rambold to a party with colleague Sabrina Lorenz and his new girlfriend. Berghammer found out there that Wendl had acted as a front man for Rambold in order to get the land for the "Sonnleiten project" cheaper.

The real estate agent Vitus Sagstätter, Wendl's former business partner, told Commissioner Lorenz about his relationship with Brigitte Neuhierl that she was his dance partner in the traditional costume club, then his secretary until she was poached by Wendl. If it had been up to him, they would have been married long ago. Since Sagstätter owns a hunting knife, Lorenz takes the knife with him to have it examined for forensics; however, the case cannot be found. When it turns out that it is the murder weapon, Sagstätter is arrested; however, he vehemently denies the act and suspects that someone stole the hunting knife and put it back after the act; his farmhouse is open day and night.

Inspector Berghammer suddenly remembers that the only person Sagstätter has known long enough to know that he has a deer catcher in his chest of drawers is Brigitte Neuhierl of all people. He finds her unconscious in her apartment and calls an ambulance. Her life can be saved in the hospital. In her suicide note, she makes a comprehensive confession. Among other things, she writes that Raimund Wendl had never heard of loyalty; life with him had been hell for her; her desperation only amused him, but she could not part with him. She had to wait a long time for an opportunity to destroy him, otherwise he would have destroyed her.
