Katharina Abbot
Katharina Abt (born Katharina Abt-Meyer ; born June 6, 1967 in Munich ) is a German actress .
Life
Katharina Abt is the daughter of the late singer Judith Abt. She was born in Munich and grew up there. During her school days she began to gain first experience in front of the camera. From 1988 to 1991 she attended the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum . She studied simultaneously with Michael Kessler and Andreas Nickl .
Her first engagement took place at Theater Dortmund , then she went permanently to the Schauspielhaus Zurich from 1993 to 1997 . When her then partner Daniel Karasek became director of the Wiesbaden Theater in 1997, Katharina Abt went with them and worked freelance for the stage and increasingly for television. She was one of the regular cast of the series The Albertis and The Elephant - Mord never barred .
Abt has lived in Hamburg since the early 2000s. She trained as a singer and musical actress with several singing teachers. Together with Daniel Karasek she translates theater plays from English into German.
Filmography
Abt was seen in a few movies in the late 1980s and has since played some major roles in theater and television in parallel. Her line-up attracted attention in the Bullen von Tölz , where she succeeded Katerina Jacob at the side of Ottfried Fischer . From 2016 to 2020 she was the first commissioner in the series The Rosenheim Cops . In 2020 she left the Rosenheim cops after 4 years.

Trivia
During the entrance exam at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum in 1988, Katharina Abbot met Jasmin Tabatabai , whom Katharina Abt today describes as her "best friend" and whose daughter she is godmother.
