Unter Frauen is a German comedy film by Hansjörg Thurn from 2012 . The production is based on a script by Sarah Schniers. The leading roles include Sebastian Ströbel , Alexandra Neldel and Fahri Yardım .

The good-looking macho and car salesman Alexander Hagen feels invincible on his trail as a seducer and arrogant bon vivant . He fires the cleaning lady of the dealership where he works and jostles at passers-by. After a gas explosion in his apartment, he wakes up in a hospital that apparently only has female nurses and doctors. Even outside of the clinic, this impression won't go away. All passers-by and people - including colleagues and acquaintances - are suddenly female. Even his best friend since childhood, Silvio, is now a ( full ) Silvia ( Fahri Yardım in the film's only cross-dressing role ). It seems that Alex is now immersed in an exclusively female parallel world. Parallel worlds are a general conceptual construct that Silvio has always told him about since childhood, and about which he now also talks to Silvia, who is basically uncomprehending about Alex, in the hope of finding a way out.
In this world full of misunderstandings and strangeness, he orientates himself on the only person who seems trustworthy to him next to Silvio / Silvia, the shy opera requisitioner Paula, whom he treated brutally in his old world, but not in the parallel world. Paula has a grandmother, who is the cleaning lady he once gave notice. She is old and frail and at the request of Paula, whose heart Alex desires, he takes care of her. A friendship develops between the old woman and Alex, which makes him noticeably more emotional. In his old company, too, he is now well-liked by being more attentive to his colleagues. When Anni, the grandmother, dies in his arms, he gives her the last promise to look after Paula. In his unconditional will to keep this promise in this supposedly hopeless woman's world, he climbs a high Düsseldorf bridge and wants to emasculate himself with a rope and a thrown brick . Silvia found out about this plan through a phone call she had just made with Alex and accidentally races under the bridge pillar with her car, slowing the fall of the brick to the ground. Alex keeps his genitals and Silvia is suddenly old Silvio again - the parallel world is apparently dissolved. Alex runs to Paula, who (well, back in the real world) only knows him as a bully, and after suddenly realizing that they probably met as children, they form a new, deep friendship.

Kino.de wrote: “The German audience expects a romantic comedy with solid entertainment value and popular actors such as B. Sebastian Ströbel in the main role as an (un) improvable womanizer ”. Bild.de, on the other hand, found: “Without any binge drinking or swear words Unter Frauen has what it takes to be the stupidest film of the year. You have to get through it first [...] Women can feel offended by this brainless and humorless comedy. Only the stupidest clichés are served. "
The lexicon of international films said: One-dimensional body-switch comedy with simple humor, dramaturgically half-baked and full of clichés, which cannot be made better by colorless actors.
