The Thurner Mühle was a watermill in Cologne-Dellbrück on the Strunde . For a long time it belonged to the Thurner Hof .

history

Without further details, a Thurn mill was mentioned in documents as early as 1322 and 1324. It must have been used as a wood mill around 1526 . Its function as a grinding and peeling mill is specified later . From 1823 it appears as a tobacco , pepper and tan mill . Around 1895 it came into the possession of the Menrath family as a wood mill. Shovel and hammer handles as well as handles for agricultural implements were initially manufactured. In the years that followed, the company expanded and, for example, manufactured cable drums for the Felten & Guilleaume company . The iron undershot waterwheel was still in service until electrification after the First World War and was later dismantled. The mill is still owned by the Menrath family as a sawmill and timber wholesaler.
