Stipe Erceg [ ˈɛrt͡seg ] (born October 30, 1974 in Split , SR Croatia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a German actor .

Life

Erceg came to Germany from Croatia with his parents at the age of four and initially lived in Tübingen . After graduating from high school, he spent some time in New York . From 1996 to 2000 he completed an acting training at the European Theater Institute in Berlin and at the same time attended the Grotowski Center in Pontedera , Italy .

He made his theater debut in 1998 on the Hanns Eisler studio stage in Berlin. In the short film Kiki und Tiger by Alain Gsponer he first demonstrated his talent as a film actor in 2001/2002. It was through this film that Hans Weingartner became aware of him and he cast the feature film The fat years are over , which was shown in competition at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004 . This was followed by the film SommerHundeSöhne by director Cyril Tuschi . He demonstrated his weakness for "broken types" in the award-winning film Der Typ (2003) and in the television film Kahlschlag (2006), both directed by Patrick Tauss. In 2007 he played the role of RAF terrorist Holger Meins in the film adaptation of Stefan Aust's bestseller The Baader Meinhof Complex .

Along with the author Alexei Schipenko founded Stipe Erceg also 2013, the film production company 'Nondual PRODUCTIONS' that the films so far Synchronized (starring Stipe Erceg) and Globo de Fogo has produced and, since 2014, various along with the theater CTB Companhia de Teatro de Braga / Portugal Pursues film projects that combine theater and film work. In 2014 and 2015, the documentary Semana Santa and the feature film Fideliche were made .

Stipe Erceg is married, has two children and lives in Berlin.
