European Theater Institute Berlin
The European Theater Institute e. V. Berlin (ETI) is a non-profit supporting organization founded in 1997, under whose roof the ETI drama school Berlin, the ETI workshop and the ETI productions are united.
organization
school
The ETI drama school Berlin started work on September 1st, 1997. Until 2012 it was a recognized supplementary school (§ 95 a / § 102). In 2012 the Senate Administration awarded her the title of a state-recognized supplementary school according to Section 103 of the Berlin Schools Act. In September 2019, the Charlottenburg Acting School stopped working. In coordination with the Senate Administration, the students were transferred to the ETI Drama School in order to guarantee an equivalent education, as the ETI Drama School is now the only state-recognized supplementary school (§103) for drama in Berlin. The Senate Administration certifies that training at the ETI is comparable to training at state schools in terms of quality and scope; it takes place according to state-tested and approved lesson plans. With this, the graduates receive a certificate that identifies them as a state-recognized actor . The training lasts 10 trimesters (39 months). In addition to the subjects of acting, acting in front of the camera and music, all relevant movement, voice and theory subjects for theater, film and television are taught.
Workshop
The ETI workshop offers interested parties the opportunity to take part in acting courses, camera acting courses (advanced and advanced training) and movement courses. Theatrical German language courses for foreigners have also been available since 2015.
production
The ETI productions offer current and former students of the drama school Berlin the opportunity to gain acting experience outside of school. Under the guidance of lecturers from the ETI or under your own direction, plays or scenic readings are staged and performed within the framework of the Berlin theater scene. Some ETI productions were created in cooperation with the Polish Institute Berlin and the Agencja Dramatu / Polish Plays Agency, with the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin and the theater discounter Berlin.
