Eva-Maria May (born May 8, 1985 in Fürstenfeldbruck ) is a German actress and singer .

May began her acting studies at the age of 17 at the European Theater Institute (ETI) in Berlin . She quickly gained her first shooting experience in various short films, music videos and commercials. She quickly developed a great love for moving images and decided to quit the mainly theater-specific studies early in order to concentrate fully on film work. From now on she played numerous episode roles in television series such as Der Kriminalist , Flemming , Coast Guard and SOKO Wismar . In the summer of 2009 Eva made her cinema debut as a female lead alongside Robert Stadlober in the psychodrama Adam's Ende by Richard Wilhelmer. In 2010, she took on the extraordinary double role of Katja Heinemann alias Kai Krone in the ARD -Telenovela Sturm der Liebe .

In 2012 she played the lead role Mia in the road movie Cruz Verde by Sandra Birkner. The film was shot in Belgium , Luxembourg , France , Spain and Germany . In the same year she took on the role of Melanie Thamheim in the cross-media Arte series About: Kate , directed by Janna Nandzik, produced by Christian Ulmen . In 2013 May gave her portrayal in a video installation by the artist Julian Rosefeldt in homage to the Roaring Twenties . In addition to her acting work, May is also active as a singer and songwriter , among others in the band IAN , which she founded and named after the late Joy Division singer Ian Curtis .
