Sebastian Freilang (* 1977 ) is a German actor .

Life

Sebastian Freilang completed his acting training from 2004 to 2007 at the European Theater Institute Berlin (Acting School Berlin). He also attended acting courses and further education, u. a. at the Institute for Acting, Film and Television Professions (ISFF) in Berlin . Since 2013 he has been working regularly for the Berlin agency “Die Tankstelle” with Dominique Chiout .

During his studies he appeared in productions by Friedo Solter and Michael Thalheimer at the Deutsches Theater . He had other theater engagements at the "Theatersommer Netzeband" (2007), at the Theater Lindenhof (2007–2009), at the Theater NN in Hamburg (2008, as court jester Trinculo in Der Sturm ), at the Junge Theater Göttingen (2008) and in various independent productions . At the Lindenhof Theater he was a. a. the Bear Joseph in a stage version of the Geier-Wally .

Since the 2010/11 season he has been part of the ensemble of the Berlin Criminal Theater . There he stepped u. a. as Botanikus Severin in Der Name der Rose (2011–2014), the "Fortune Knight" Philip Lombard in Ten Little Negroes (season 2011/12, with Kaspar Eichel as a partner), as husband Giles Ralston and as Detective Sergeant Trotter in Die Mausefalle (2013–2014) and as James Ferguson in Death on the Nile (from 2014). In later revivals he was seen repeatedly in these roles. With the productions of the Berlin Criminal Theater he also appeared in guest performances in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ( Putbus , Chorin Monastery ) and throughout Germany. In the crime play Revanche - Ein Mord für Zwei by Anthony Shaffer , he took on the role of penniless actor and lover Milo Tindle under the direction of Wolfgang Rumpf in the 2016/17 season . In 2019 he appeared with the Berlin Criminal Theater as Sergeant Trotter in Die Mausefalle at the Theater im Park in Bad Oeynhausen .

Freilang also appeared in various movies, TV feature films and TV series. His theatrical productions included The Fourth Power and The Day in Heaven , both of which premiered in 2012.

In the TV drama Under Charges: The Harry Wörz Case (2014) he played Walter, the best friend of the main character Harry Wörz (played by Rüdiger Klink ). In November 2014 he was seen in the ZDF crime series SOKO Wismar in an episode role as the bookseller Martin Radke. He has also been hired several times as an advertising actor.

Sebastian Freilang lives with his partner, who is also an actress, in Berlin-Neukölln . He is the father of a daughter.
