Home Is Here is an Austrian - Czech co-production from 2016 by Tereza Kotyk . The premiere took place on November 18, 2016 as part of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival . The cinema release was in Austria on July 14, 2017.

action

At the center of the film set in Innsbruck is the young, disoriented Hannah, an Austrian with Czech roots. She lives temporarily with her mother and little brother in the Olympic Village . One day she breaks into Max's modern villa. He is single, works as a financial advisor and is a pedantic athlete. Hannah repeats her trips to Max's house over and over until Max notices small changes. He engages in playful communication with Hannah, but without meeting her. The communication between the two only takes place through changes in the house. In the course of their game they come to the conclusion that life is not about looking for a relationship or a certain place, but rather that you can only find your home with yourself: "Home Is Here".

The shooting took place in September and October 2015, the shooting took place in Tyrol . The film was supported by the Austrian Film Institute , the State of Tyrol , Cine Tirol , the City of Innsbruck and the Czech Film Commission, ServusTV was involved . The film was produced by KGP - Kranzelbinder Gabriele Production . Veronika Harb was responsible for the costume design, Elena Riccabona for the production design and Peter Rösner for the sound. The film is the feature film debut of the Tyrolean filmmaker Tereza Kotyk.

Peter Angerer wrote in the Tiroler Tageszeitung : In Tereza Kotyk's icy gray film “Home is here” perhaps twenty sentences are spoken, it is less about death or life than about a study of loneliness and boredom.
