Tereza Kotyk

Tereza Kotyk (* 1979 in Prague ) is a Czech - Austrian film director , author and curator .

Life

Tereza Kotyk is the daughter of the culture journalist and publicist Marta Pelinka-Marková and the cameraman Michal Kotyk. Kotyk studied at the University of Vienna , the University of Innsbruck and the Université de Dijon and is an alumna of the Wajda Film Studio at the Wajda Film School Warsaw in the EKRAN + program with Ildiko Enyedi and Wojciech Marczewski , as well as from Witcraft Scenario / Babylon London in the Various Stories program. She was at the Actor's Studio with Kate Marlow in Manchester and from 2006 to 2010 a. a. at the Cornerhouse in Manchester.

In 2010, Kotyk founded the offspace “The Soap Room” in Innsbruck. She has directed the Innsbruck International Biennale since 2013 .

Kotyk received international attention in 2016 with the feature film Home Is Here , which shows two people searching for themselves. In November 2016 Home is Here received an invitation to compete at the 20th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia . In 2018 she received the “filmresidence” award for Home is Here at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Film Festival in the Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop .

In May 2018 she was a member of the jury for the international feature film competition at the 27th Innsbruck International Film Festival .
