action

Chief Inspector Kluftinger goes on a Sunday excursion with his family. But when they find a supposedly dead diver at the Alatsee , the inspector feels it is his duty to work on Sundays too. He sends the family home and begins to secure the first leads. He notices that the diver is still alive and that he has "penetrated" into the area of responsibility of the Füssen police. Commissioner Friedel Marx quickly appears and insists on working on the case. To Kluftinger's annoyance, the very emancipated and chain-smoking person literally took over the investigation. According to initial examinations, the unfortunate diver suffered a traumatic brain injury, presumably from the blow of a second person. The first trace leads to a group of divers who are scientifically investigating the purple bacteria found in the lake on behalf of the University of Munich . It looks like the victim smuggled in here under a false name. Norbert Schnalke, a self-proclaimed shaman who sees his task as protecting the water and its cosmic energy, camps in the immediate vicinity of the lake . He tells Kluftinger of a treasure that is said to be hidden in the lake, but only those with a pure heart can find the treasure; the lake would kill anyone else. For Kluftinger this is all rubbish , but since he involuntarily came into contact with the lake water, he starts to brood a little.

Kluftinger's colleague Richard Maier researched old files that there was a mysterious diving accident years ago that could never be properly clarified. The brother of this then deceased claims that at the end of the Second World War Nazis killed his brother because he wanted to bring something from the lake to safety. After the research divers find an old crowbar with a swastika engraved in the lake, Kluftinger suspects that the old man's story was not made up. Richard Maier can research an old Seegrund project on the Internet , according to which the Nazis carried out secret research on weapons technology. To find out more about this, Kluftinger and Marx contact Prof. Johann Röck and find out that his son is the injured diver from Alatsee.

In the meantime, the divers research camp is being devastated and their valuable diving robot stolen. It is clear to Kluftinger that there is a group at work here that includes the injured diver and that wants to salvage something from the lake at all costs that can only have to do with the old Nazi stories. They observe Prof. Johann Röck and Pius Ackermann, because according to the files, both of them were involved in the research project at the time and can observe how they try to steal their prey from a group of divers who are using the stolen diving robot to fetch boxes from the lake. Kluftinger, Marx and Maier step in and finally find out what secret is hidden in the sunken boxes. After they have been opened, however, there is only a mud of rotten paper.

He and Kluftinger sunk a second box, which the shaman had found in the lake some time ago, back in the middle of the lake so that he could keep his secret.

In the next few days, colleague Marx wants to prove the attack on Christof Röck to Pius Ackermann's nephew, whom, according to her research, she believes to be the perpetrator.

Reviews

In the Allgäu people did not show much joy about this Kluftinger film, because "the locals feel they are being portrayed incorrectly", say Anne-Sophie Weisenbach and Sarah Ritschel from the Augsburger Allgemeine . "Although he is pleased that the beauty of the landscape comes into its own in the film, [one] judges the portrayal itself as an 'absolute plunge into the bottomlessness'".

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv saw this crime thriller as “a lot of fun. A weird mixture of provincial crime thriller with a mythological tinge and character comedy with an absurd note. After the more straightforward 'milk money', points density and playfulness have again attracted more in the direction of 'harvest thanksgiving'. ”Tittelbach sees the film as a whole as“ clever, pleasurable [and] sensual TV entertainment! ”

In television series. de it was judged: “Kluftinger's world is shaking.” Because “A dead person is not dead” and “Marx suddenly sits on his office chair.” But that's not all: “His son threatens to go to Japan” and “A bad cold is attacking his immune system. ”That is too much for the commissioner. “Everything seems to be changing. Nothing is as it was. A nightmare for Kluftinger, who more than anyone else wants to hold on to what is and, according to his wishes, should always remain. "
