action

In his home town of Altusried, the manager of a dairy is found murdered. Commissioner Kluftinger has to cancel his vacation in Spain and begins the investigation. There are quite a few suspects, because the man was hated because he was tough on the milk prices. This put many existences at stake. Kluftinger plays with some of the suspects in the wind orchestra. And actually he wanted to go on vacation with Erika. But he prefers to investigate. The situation quickly becomes tense because people do not appreciate Kluftinger's style of questions. As if that weren't enough, his father, a long-time retired village policeman, starts his own investigation.

While Kluftinger himself falls into a dug grave in pursuit of a suspect, his father has long since arrested the illegally employed cleaning lady of the murder victim. She is innocent, but at least Kluftinger can track down puzzling truck deliveries from Eastern Europe. The suspicion quickly arises that the Russian mafia wants to use the Allgäu as a transshipment point for its drug deals. But suddenly Robert Bartsch, an employee of the dairy, is found dead and Kluftinger's father disappears. While searching for him, Kluftinger found a warehouse in which the local farmers had stored milk powder that they bought cheaply in Eastern Europe and then mixed with the milk in order to remain competitive in terms of quantity. Karl Schönmanger, head of the dairy farmers' cooperative, was responsible for everything, and after the head of the dairy found out, Schönmanger had killed him. He also killed Robert Bartsch in an argument when he wanted to get out of the business.

Reviews

“Director Rainer Kaufmann tells this homeland film in a lovingly old-fashioned way, cozy, direct and unaffected. The humor is sometimes loud, for example when Kluftinger falls into an open grave during the chase in the cemetery. Or quieter when he trudges through the dairy in hygienic protective clothing over his massive stomach. The equipment is right down to the smallest detail, the supporting roles are credibly cast: Johannes Allmayer plays the smart-ass colleagues from Baden, Jockel Tschiersch is the loyal friend with the dry joke. In addition to all the comedic finesse, "Milchgeld" also tells serious and topical about the struggle for survival of small farmers, the dwindling value of food, globalization and exploitation. "

“From this chaos, accompanied by wonderfully ironic and cheerful music by Dieter Schleip, an addicting crime story is formed. [...] The characters, one more bizarre than the other, are lovingly staged. "

"[...] Which brings us to the case alongside all the bizarre side stories. [...] Herbert Knaup, who himself comes from the Allgäu, plays the inspector with the original dialect, the full cream cult factor and a lot of credibility. "

"Knaup, who is a slim person, plays Kluftinger in an interesting way: a bulky, quickly breathless, choleric and nevertheless almost shy traditional jacket man."
