action

The film is about the life of the passionate cyclist, womanizer and bon vivant Marc (played by Til Schweiger), who loses his left leg in a serious accident and has to rearrange and rethink his life after the accident. The relationships with a woman named Nika (played by Jana Pallaske), his daughter Sarah (played by Til Schweiger's daughter, Luna Schweiger) and his best friend Alexander (played by Stipe Erceg) are of central importance.

background

The film is based on a true story about the cyclist and friend of the director Stephen Sumner , who lost his left leg in an accident in 2004. He is one of Til Schweiger's doubles in the film.

criticism

"With its smooth staging, the metaphor-rich film fairy tale uses too many clichés to make its appeal to understand strokes of fate as opportunities in life appear truthful or touching."

“Once again Til Schweiger tries to get away from the hype and fails miserably. The story, which is not particularly tingling anyway, is told with little ambition, babbling for long stretches like an April rain. Apart from Jana Pallaske, Schweiger's daughter is the most remarkable actor. Schweiger himself, on the other hand, usually has nothing more to do than pull his long hair back from his face. A passionate racing cyclist, on the other hand, looks different. And after viewing the film, it takes a while before you are no longer tormented by phantom pain. "

The German Film and Media Assessment (FBW) in Wiesbaden awarded the film the rating “valuable”.
