Ngo The Chau

Ngo The Chau (* 1977 in Hanoi , Vietnam ; also: The Chau Ngo ) is a cameraman working in Germany .

Life

Ngo The Chau came to Berlin from Vietnam as a child , where he graduated from the Friedrich-Ebert-Oberschule in 1996 . He then worked as a lighting technician on various film projects. From 1999 to 2004 he completed a camera degree at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). In 2003 he was the first to receive the Michael Ballhaus Award, which is awarded to camera students at the dffb for outstanding performance.

While still a student, Ngo The Chau began working as director of photography for cinema and television productions, as well as commercials and music videos. He was responsible for the image design for music videos by Herbert Grönemeyer , Seeed , Ferris MC , Fler and Aggro Berlin . In 2005 he received the German Camera Prize and the German Television Prize for the crime scene Scheherazade . Since 2005 he has also been a guest lecturer at the International Film School in Cologne , among others . In 2018 he directed the ZDF fairytale film Snow White and the Magic of the Dwarfs for the first time.
