action
After the unexpected accidental death of his wife Babette, life for Markus and his 15-year-old daughter Kim is out of joint. When Kim's grandmother Gerlinde, who actually wants to help her father and daughter, learns that she has cancer and is going through chemotherapy, everything doesn't get any easier. Only the geriatric nurse Paula brings some relaxation to the situation. Gerlinde initially hides her illness from her family and pretends to be traveling. With Paula's help, she does chemotherapy at home. One day Paula thinks it would be better to inform Markus.
Kim falls in love with the school dropout Alex and flees with him from their complicated home in Denmark to a holiday colony. Father Markus wants to bring her back and follows her with grandma Gerlinde and nurse Paula. You meet the two youngsters in the holiday village and drive back with Kim. On the way back, grandma dies peacefully in the car and the film ends with a conciliatory funeral.
