German television award 2016

The presentation of the German Television Prize 2016 took place for the first time on January 13, 2016 in the Rheinterrasse in Düsseldorf . After the television prize was not awarded in 2015, the founders agreed to hold the award again at an industry meeting. Unlike previous awards, it was not televised. Instead, a 30-minute summary of the award ceremony was shown at EinsFestival on January 14, 2016 at 9:45 p.m.
For the first time, Barbara Schöneberger moderated the 17th award of the German Television Prize .
RTL Television was in charge of the hosting .

Honorary award of the donors
On January 11, 2016, it was announced that the sponsors of the German Television Prize would award the 2016 Honorary Prize to the German investigative journalist and writer Günter Wallraff .
Sponsorship / young talent award
The freelance filmmaker and young reporter Hubertus Koch received the 15,000 euro sponsorship award for young talent for his report Addicted to Jihad - A Little Boy's Film .
