The fifteenth award of the German Television Prize took place on October 2, 2013 in Cologne's Coloneum and was broadcast two days later on Sat.1 , moderated by Oliver Pocher and Cindy from Marzahn .

The jury chairman was the producer Christiane Ruff in 2013 , the deputy chairman of the jury was the freelance journalist Klaudia Wick . Honorary award winner Ottfried Fischer caused a moment of shock when he quoted the literary critic Marcel Reich-Ranicki, who died on September 18, 2013, with the words “I will not accept this award”, but later added that this was a punch line and accepted the award anyway .

ZDF was able to claim most of the awards, while the private ones only received one award in the category Best Entertainment Show.
