Boss Burns
Boss Burns (born February 28, 1972 in East Berlin ; real name Alec Völkel ) is a German singer , graphic designer and founding member of the band The BossHoss . Musically, he is mainly active in the fields of country and rock .
biography
1995-2003: Boon
In 1995 Völkel joined the heavy metal band Boon, which was founded in 1992 and played as a supporting act for Rammstein , In Extremo and other bands. In 2003 the group broke up.
Since 2004: Tehran Taxi and The BossHoss
Since 2003 he sang in the indie and alternative band Tehran Taxi. In 2004 she published self-distributed together with Sascha Vollmer produced EP Tehran taxi . The band has not been active for a long time.
In 2004 he founded the band The BossHoss in Berlin together with Sascha Vollmer alias Hoss Power and Michael Frick , who are also commercial artists like him . At the end of 2004 they signed their first major record deal with Universal Music . Live he takes over the rhythm guitar when Vollmer plays the stylophone in the instrumental part of Hot in Here . From 2011 to 2013, Völkel and Vollmer shared a jury seat on the casting show The Voice of Germany . In addition to his roles as a singer and washboard player, Burns is the graphic designer of the albums at The BossHoss. In December 2015 he married the photo journalist Johanna Michels, who gave birth to a son in March 2016. He also has a son from a previous relationship.
