SAT.1 NEWS (own spelling) is the news program of the German television station Sat.1 .

history

1985 to 2004

After SAT.1 started broadcasting in January 1985, the news from Aktuell Presse Fernsehen (APF) , a company founded by publishers (including FAZ ), was produced in Hamburg. The show was called APF Blick . The first edition was broadcast on January 1, 1985 at 1 p.m. with Armin Halle . In contrast to RTL , SAT.1 tried to orient the news to the style of the Tagesschau . In 1986 the publishers took part in Sat.1 and the show was renamed SAT.1 Blick . The starting times of the main news varied between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. From 1993 the news program was called Newsmagazin and was broadcast at 7 p.m. In 1995, moderated Ulrich Meyer news 18:30 . In the course of the merger of SAT.1 and ProSieben , the newsrooms were merged. Since then, a central editorial office in Berlin has been producing the latest reporting for the entire station group.

Since 2004

With SAT.1's “info offensive” scheduled in 2004, the news was renamed Sat.1 News and presented by Thomas Kausch until June 2007 . Then Katja Losch presented the SAT.1 News . The show has been running under the name SAT.1 NACHRICHTEN since March 17, 2008 and is broadcast from Monday to Saturday at 8 p.m. Peter Limbourg , the former N24 editor-in-chief and then Senior Vice President News and Political Information at ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG, was responsible for and moderated it. Since 2008 and 2009 the Sunday editions have also started at 8 p.m. and are moderated by Katja Losch and Heiko Paluschka . As part of the takeover of the news broadcaster N24 by N24 Media GmbH, a news production contract for the entire ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland group ( Sat.1 , ProSieben , Kabel eins ) was agreed with it. The news will continue to be produced and broadcast in the Welt broadcasting complex (formerly N24) in Berlin.

Since November 1st, 2008 the program has been produced in the 16: 9 widescreen format.

Since December 2008, the respective issue has been available as a live stream on the Internet on the program's homepage.

Since July 9, 2012, the design has adapted to the current SAT.1 design again after 4 years.

On May 4, 2013, the time slot was brought forward by five minutes. However, this did not change the scope of the broadcast.

From May 10, 2013 Marc Bator replaced Peter Limbourg as chief moderator of the main editions.

    Foreign and domestic studios

Together with Die Welt, SAT.1 has a foreign studio in Washington DC (USA) and in Moscow (Russia). The US correspondent is Steffen Schwarzkopf and the Russia correspondent is Christoph Wanner. The station also uses freelance journalists in London (Great Britain), Rome (Italy) and Jerusalem (Israel), as well as others. In addition, the reporters Jens Reupert, Nadine Mierdorf and Carsten Hädler are currently sent to the respective locations in the event of a crisis.

In Germany, SAT.1 is represented with state studios in Kiel, Hamburg, Bremen, Hanover, Dortmund, Mainz and Munich. These also produce the daily regional news 17:30 Sat.1 .

    Changes to the transmission structure

The news sector was severely restricted from July 16, 2007 due to austerity measures at SAT.1, which were made necessary by the extremely high return demands of the financial investors Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) and Permira . The low-rated programs Sat.1 at noon and Sat.1 in the evening lost their place in the program the next day. At the end of August 2007 the night news program “SAT.1 News - Die Nacht” was also discontinued.
