Thomas Kausch (born January 23, 1963 in Werne ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Life

During his political, English and German studies at the University of Münster, he worked for dpa and the WDR . He then reported from abroad for ten years. As a reporter for ZDF and ARD , he was in New York for three years , and as a ZDF correspondent in Vienna, he worked in Southeastern Europe for three years. He also reported for ZDF from many war and crisis areas in the Balkans , Africa , Asia and the Middle East .

From 2004 to 2007, Kausch was Head of Information at Sat.1. Since 2007, Kausch has moderated the socio-political themed evenings on Arte . In the second season of the television series Pastewka , Kausch had a guest appearance in 2006, in which he played himself. In 2017 he published the autobiographical story How I got my daughter through high school .

In 2005, Kausch hosted the TV duel for the 2005 Bundestag election on five channels ( Das Erste , ZDF , RTL , Sat.1 and Phoenix ) together with Sabine Christiansen , Maybrit Illner and Peter Kloeppel .

Thomas Kausch lives in Berlin, is married to the photo artist Kiki Kausch and has a daughter.
