Max Oppel

Max Oppel is a German art historian .

Career

Oppel studied at the University of Munich Law with a minor in art history and Bavarian history . He then worked for 13 years in the auditing department of the legal expenses insurer DAS . He then switched to the Wittelsbach Compensation Fund (WAF) as head of the art and inventory department .

He is the editor and author of numerous works on the history of art in Bavaria. He holds the positions of first chairman of the board of the Friends of Church Music in St. Michael and the second deputy chairman of the circle of friends of the institute for art history of the University of Munich . He is also a member of the board of the Herzog Carl Theodor Munich Eye Clinic Foundation .

At times, Oppel is on the advice team for the show I have a big name .

Honors

  • 2011: Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany
    for his exemplary voluntary work as artistic treasurer and his patronage
