Karl-Ulrich Kuhlo

Karl-Ulrich Kuhlo (born October 25, 1947 in Düsseldorf ) is a German journalist .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Hilden , Kuhlo began studying law and political science, which he broke off.

From 1971 to 1976, Kuhlo worked as a reporter for the Kölnische Rundschau , then as a chief reporter for the areas of "politics and economics" at Bild am Sonntag . From 1984 to 1986, as editor-in-chief, he was commissioned by Springer to set up the satellite and cable channel SAT.1 . After an interlude as a freelance writer, he was involved in founding the news channel n-tv in 1991 and was its managing partner from 1991 to 1998, and finally chairman of the supervisory board since 1999.

Kuhlo has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom since 1999 ; since 2011 he has been a member of the program committee.
