Conny Czymoch

Conny Czymoch is a German journalist , presenter and media trainer.

Life

During her school days, Conny Czymoch worked as a freelancer for the local edition of Wuppertal Neue Rhein Zeitung in Essen from 1974 to 1977 . She graduated from high school in 1977 and studied International Relations and Economics at Reading University in Great Britain until 1980. She then completed an internship at Deutschlandfunk in Cologne until 1981 .

In 1982 she became a reporter / producer for a weekly magazine for RTHK Radio Television Hong Kong. During this time she was also a reporter for various German radio stations. From 1984 to 1986 she worked as an editor at the WDR Landesstudio in Cologne and since 1986 as a freelance reporter for DLF, Deutsche Welle, WDR radio and Deutsche Welle tv Focus on Europe and CNN World Report.

From 1992 to 1993 Conny Czymoch was the news presenter for SAT1 News in Hamburg. As an author and presenter for Deutschlandfunk (today: D-Radio), Deutsche Welle and WDR , she was entrusted with the topics of politics, society and culture and presented the political magazine Standpunkte / Perspectives in German and English on DW tv. In the 1990s she worked as a lecturer at the Academy for Journalism in Hamburg and later in Munich.

In 1997 Conny Czymoch switched to the station PHOENIX , where she has been the TV presenter for the TAG program ever since .

In spring 2009 she accompanied the UNHCR Council of Business Leaders in refugee camps in southern Africa and reported daily in a CSR blog on ManpowerInc. Homepage.

In autumn 2009 she was the first European journalist to moderate at the Clinton Global Initiative in New York on the topic of Leadership and Solutions to End Human Trafficking and Forced Labor . She also moderated conferences a. a. with the former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan , the former NASA boss Michael Griffin and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel .

Czymoch campaigns against human trafficking and for women's rights, in the NOTforSALE Campaign and Terre des femmes .

Conny Czymoch lives with her partner in London and Bergisch Gladbach and is the mother of an adult son.

Awards

She received the Hugo Junkers Prize in 2007 for the PHOENIX report series ALL-Tag - The Thomas Reiter Mission .
