Sport Inside (spelling: sport inside ) is an unmoderated weekly documentary on WDR television . The editors describe the program as a background magazine for sport that tells "stories beyond the glittering world of sports".

Concept of broadcast

In each issue of Sport Inside, three articles, each 9-10 minutes in length, are broadcast. In rarer cases, an explosive contribution can take twice as long or fill the entire broadcast time. The contributions of the program deal principally and exclusively with topics from the field of sport. The topics are intended to provide a glimpse behind the scenes and extend, among other things, from politics to business and health to the fascination of sport and its exercise by amateurs . Frequently, topics related to international professional football are prepared, in which, for example, the background to football world championships, the Bundesliga or the problem of violence are explained. The reports are characterized by their authenticity, criticism and depth. For example, the article on Spanish business trips from October 2009 caused a sensation, in which the BKA's successes in investigations into the suspected doping case against Jan Ullrich were explained for the first time . In addition, corruption was often discussed intensively at FIFA in 2015 and 2016 . In general, the topics of doping , sports betting and the commercialization of sport take up a considerable part of the reporting.

Charisma

The 30-minute program was broadcast on Monday evening at 10:45 p.m. on WDR television until December 2015 . Since January 2016 Sports Inside is Sunday night at 22:05 after the Bundesliga - sports show to see. The show is repeated on tagesschau24 .
