Antje Traue
Antje Traue (born January 18, 1981 in Mittweida , Karl-Marx-Stadt district , GDR ) is a German actress .
Life
At the age of two, Antje Traue moved with her mother to Genthin , where she was discovered by talent scouts as a gymnast during her school days and attended a training center. When she was nine, she moved to Berlin with her mother . Antje Traue began acting there when she was still at school when she played Joan of Arc on the school stage . In the summer of 1995 she moved to Munich with her mother and younger sister. At sixteen, she was in Munich on musical theater of the International Munich Art Lab - a school for visual arts, media, performing arts and music - for the hip-hop - Musical West End Opera cast as lead role. In the following years she played the role of "Vivienne" with the ensemble on stage and toured all over Germany and Europe and came to New York City with her performances .
In the summer of 2002 Antje Traue moved to Berlin , where she continued her acting training. In the course of her further career she worked in several cinema and television films, including in Carsten Fiebeler's 1980s comedy Kleinruppin forever , the movie Berlin am Meer and the TV series SOKO Cologne . In the 2009 film Phantomschmerz by Matthias Emcke she played the role of "Anja" alongside Til Schweiger and Jana Pallaske .
She made her first experiences in an international cinema production in 2009 in the science fiction film Pandorum . Directed by Christian Alvart , she played the leading female role of "Nadia" with Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster from August to October 2008 in the Babelsberg studio . In addition to her, Wotan Wilke Möhring and André M. Hennicke were also part of the German cast.
In 2011 she took on a role in Zack Snyder's comic adaptation Man of Steel , which was released in German cinemas on June 20, 2013. In February 2012, Traue was cast in the role of Bony Lizzie for the fantasy film Seventh Son , where she played alongside Julianne Moore , Jeff Bridges and Kit Harington . In 2016 she starred in The Jerico Project (Criminal) alongside Kevin Costner , Gary Oldman , Tommy Lee Jones and Ryan Reynolds .
In 2016 she was nominated for the German Television Award in the category Best Actress for her roles in the series Weinberg and the TV film Mordkommission Berlin 1 .
