The series was broadcast in Germany from March 28, 2013 to May 20, 2013 on the station Das Erste . The individual episodes are based on the novels of the Swedish author Liza Marklund .

The series is about the journalist Annika Bengtzon, who works in Stockholm for the fictional daily newspaper Kvällspressen . Actually a society reporter, she repeatedly comes across crimes in her research, which she investigates on her own to create a good story. Not only does this often cause her to conflict with the police, but it also puts a strain on her marriage because of the intensive private investigations.
