Jana Pallaske (born May 20, 1979 in East Berlin ) is a German actress , guitarist and singer . Under the pseudonym Bonnie Riot , she sang in the Berlin punk band Spitting Off Tall Buildings , of which she was a founding member and which broke up in 2007. She also uses the pseudonym JEDI ¥ ESS .

Life

After Jana Pallaske had dropped out of school shortly before graduation, she got the lead role in the film alaska.de by Esther Gronenborn in 2000 . She had her second big role in 2001 in the film Engel and Joe on the side of Robert Stadlober .

Since then she has played in numerous film and television productions. Until 2004 she also worked as a VJ at the music broadcaster MTV Germany , where she presented the MTV News Mag once a week as a substitute for Markus Kavka . In 2009 she played the song Nordpol / Südpol with the band Jupiter Jones . In 2011 she appeared as an activist for the Occupy movement on the talk show Maybrit Illner .

In 2009 she played a small role in the film Inglourious Basterds by Quentin Tarantino . 2016 she participated in the 150th edition of the ARD - the game show Who knows something? part in which she was defeated by the opposing team alongside team captain Bernhard Hoëcker . Also in 2016 she took part in the 9th season of the television dance show Let's Dance and took third place. In 2018, she took part in the second season of Global Gladiators , where she finished last.
