Spitting Off Tall Buildings was a Berlin punk band in which the former VJ and actress Jana Pallaske sang under the pseudonym Bonnie Riot .
history
Pallaske and Radermacher founded the band in 2002. In 2003, Jürgens, Albrecht and Eberle joined them, and they knew each other from the Treptow venue "Insel". In 2004 an EP was recorded and the first concerts were played. At one of these concerts they met the music producer Moses Schneider , who had already worked for Tocotronic and Beatsteaks . Through him, the band came to Sanctuary Records and released their debut album Spitting Off Tall Buildings on September 30, 2005 . The live music was produced by Moses Schneider, and the vocals by The Strokes producer Gordon Raphael. The album was mixed by Michael Ilbert from Sweden, who had already worked with The Hives , The Hellacopters and Fireside .
The name of the band is the title of a novel by the American author Dan Fante .
With the release of their second album Good Night and Good Luck on Exile on Mainstream Records on May 11, 2007, Spitting Off Tall Buildings announced that they would split up in late 2007. The album was recorded within a week at the Electrical Audio Studio in Chicago and produced by Steve Albini .
