Charlotte Thielemann lives in Berlin , works for an advertising agency and has a husband and two children. When she was planning to divorce her husband and quit her job, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Germany . Now she has her work in teleworking do and is afraid her boss with SARS-CoV-2 to have infected. Meanwhile her husband Markus is still with the children in Brandenburg.

Production and broadcast
The series was created shortly after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany and in response to it. All those involved worked from home due to the current ban on contact:
“[...] The actors work at home, the directors direct by video conference, the authors work from home, as do the producers and editors. Like almost everyone right now. Special times require extraordinary modes of production [..]. "
Leading actress Lavinia Wilson, for example, was also responsible for the mask, costume, props, light and camera. From April 3, 2020, a new episode was usually published in the ZDFmediathek on weekdays at 8 p.m. ZDFneo shows weekly summaries on Tuesdays, starting April 7, 2020.

The series received mostly positive reviews. The performance of leading actress Lavinia Wilson was particularly praised:
“[...] Of all the attempts to make the most of the current situation,“ Inside ”is by far the most original and entertaining. [...] The ten-minute short stories are impressive not only because of their short duration, but also because of their short-term nature. "Inside" is the perfect answer to the Corona crisis: Every working day, a new episode is created one or two days in advance so that the authors can react to current events. Seldom has the phrase "making a virtue out of necessity" as fitting as it is here, especially since Lavinia Wilson, who was trained in improvisation, is in her element. "[...] The series may be a pointed, shortened, model sketch of people in their thirties trying to balance their own and a global crisis and getting lost in silly little things, but through Wilson's play Charlotte becomes this characteristic of the series fair, without the figure becoming a caricature. “Inside - everyone is the same on the Internet” is unquestionably unusual and ambitious despite the rapid pace. But it's also a series for a special taste: The gags are often very irrelevant and take place several times on a purely filmmaking level - and they require prior knowledge of the reference material. The predictability of the story was occasionally criticized:
"[...] Otherwise there are a lot of clichés that are put into place in very little time: The stubborn generation of parents to whom the pandemic has to be explained, the sister with a meditation background [...] who is still traveling in the jungle [ and] Charlotte wants to explain that she should relax, the Tinder dates running nowhere, the vibrator from the boss: Everything is a bit overdrawn and also not entirely unpredictable. Basically, however, one can hardly blame “inside” because the circumstances and the insane topicality with which it is produced (and, above all, edited) hardly allow a more in-depth approach. "
