Lavinia Wilson (born March 8, 1980 in Munich ) is a German actress .

Life

Lavinia Wilson was born in Munich as the daughter of a German political scientist and an American anthropologist .

She has lived with the actor Barnaby Metschurat since 2001 . In February 2014, she gave birth to their first son. The second son was born in June 2016. She is now the mother of three sons. In addition to acting at the University of Hagen, she studied philosophy as a major and history and sociology as a minor. In March 2013 she completed her master’s degree with distinction .

Career

At the age of eleven she gave her 1991 film debut in Quiet Shadows by Sherry Hormann . She first appeared on television two years later in Vivian Naefe's dance of death . At the side of Benno Fürmann she starred in 1996 in the love drama The First Time , then in the films A disobedient woman (1997) and Bed and Breakfast (1999).

In 2000 the actress was seen in two films in the cinema. She took on the leading role in the drama Julietta by director Christoph Stark , in Marco Petry's comedy Schule she played alongside Daniel Brühl and Jasmin Schwiers .

In 2004 she took over the leading role in solo from director Thomas Durchschlag . For her portrayal of a mentally ill person she was awarded the Max Ophüls Prize as the best young actress. Other films include Clemens Pichler's Hüttenzauber and Æon Flux by Karyn Kusama as well as Acquitted , a cinema adaptation of the Ödön von Horváth play Derjungste Tag directed by Peter Payer , for which she received the Undine Audience Award for Best Actress in 2008 .

Wilson first appeared on stage in 2006 as Christine in Horváth's Zur Schöne Aussicht , staged by Martin Kušej at the Hamburger Schauspielhaus .

In 2007, the TV film Monogamy for Beginners , directed by Marc Malze, and the feature film productions Lulu & Jimi (directed by Oskar Roehler ) and Tandoori Love (directed by Oliver Paulus ) followed. In 2008 she once again demonstrated her versatility and starred in projects as diverse as the ZDF film Ein Dorf sees Mord alongside August Zirner , Corinna Harfouch and Thomas Thieme (director: Walter Weber) as well as the Pro7 event movie Tod the depth (director: Hans Horn) and the black and white film debut Entzauberungen by HFF graduate Andreas Pieper.

In 2009 she played another leading role as an ambitious secretary together with Senta Berger for the ARD business thriller Frau Böhm says no in front of the camera. Directed by Connie Walther , with whom she had shot for the first time in 1996 . For the role of Ira Engel in this film, she received an Acting Award at the Baden-Baden Television Film Festival in 2009 and a Grimme Award in 2010 . In 2010 she stood in front of the camera for the HR film Lisas Fluch , directed by Petra K. Wagner . There she plays the title role, a physiotherapist who discovers her telepathic skills. In 2011 she had a leading role in Oskar Roehler's film Sources of Life , a film adaptation of his novel Origin. In 2012 she was selected to star in the film adaptation of the novel Lap Prayers by Charlotte Roche .
