Frieder Schlaich

Frieder Schlaich (born November 17, 1961 in Stuttgart ) is a German director and film producer .

Life

Frieder Schlaich studied visual communication at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . His first feature film, Paul Bowles - Crescent , which is based on three short stories by the author Paul Bowles , received numerous awards.

Under the name “ Filmgalerie 451 ”, he and Irene von Alberti have been running a video library, video label, film distribution and film production facility since 1992, first in Stuttgart, then in Berlin. He is particularly interested in the Arab world, where he took part in some projects, such as video workshops with young people in Jenin and Algiers.
