Season course

Championship decision

The first league leader of the season was B36 Tórshavn . 0 draw at: this place they had for a 0 VB Vágur to KÍ Klaksvík cede. After KÍ did not get over a 0-0 win against second-placed HB Tórshavn , the lead switched back to B36. These were able to expand this to up to three points, after the 2: 4 defeat at HB Tórshavn on matchday six, B36, KÍ, GÍ Gøta and HB were tied in front. After B36's 2: 3 defeat against KÍ Klaksvík on matchday eight, KÍ moved back to first place. Four more victories followed and the lead grew to three points. A draw as well as a defeat from the next two games resulted in a swap with B36, who celebrated five wins in a row, after which a draw was enough for first place due to the better goal difference. The last change came on the 15th matchday after B36 lost 2-0 to HB. The decision about the championship was made on the last day of the match. However, since both second-placed GÍ Gøta (3-0 against B68 Toftir ) and first-placed KÍ Klaksvík (4-1 against ÍF Fuglafjørður ) could win their games, this table constellation remained. The two competitors each took an early lead, which was never endangered.

Relegation battle

ÍF Fuglafjørður started the season expectantly with four points from the first two games. However, seven defeats in a row let the team crash down to the penultimate place, only on matchday 14 achieved the next victory with a 2-1 at B68 Toftir. After the 17th matchday and the 1: 5 defeat against GÍ Gøta, the eighth place could no longer be achieved directly relegation.

SÍ Sumba finished last on 16 of the 18 game days. The only exceptions were the first and last game days. On the ninth matchday, the first win came with a 1-0 win against VB Vágur. In the season finale, direct rival ÍF Fuglafjørður lost 4-1 at KÍ Klaksvík after an early deficit in the eleventh minute. Sumba, on the other hand, also managed the second win of the season against VB Vágur, in the away game the opponent was defeated 2-1, the winning goal came in the final minute. So SÍ Sumba was able to overtake ÍF.
