history

Old logo of Fram Tórshavn (until 2008)

Fram Tórshavn was originally founded on January 12, 1975, making it the fourth capital city club after HB Tórshavn (1904), B36 Tórshavn (1936) and AB Argir (1973). Since the suburb of Argir was incorporated into the municipality of Tórshavn in 1997 , Fram can also be considered the third capital association.

In 1977 Fram played for one season in the 1st Deild (now Betrideildin ) before they were relegated again as bottom of the table. Fram is the only Faroese football club in history that made it from the 1st division down to the 4th division.

Fram was able to take first place in the 3rd league ( 2nd Deild ) in 2008 and thus achieved promotion to the 1st Deild . At the end of 2008 it was decided to rename it to FC Hoyvík . Under the new name, they finished seventh only two points away from the relegation ranks in 2009, and the team achieved the same position the following year. In 2011, when he finished ninth, he was relegated to the 2nd Deild . From the following year, FC Hoyvík joined a syndicate with FF Giza to play and took third place in the first season. Only because of the worse goal difference, the team failed at TB Tvøroyri II . In 2013, the syndicate failed again as third place in the promotion, as well as in 2014. In 2015, as second place, the promotion to the 1st Deild was finally achieved. After a fourth and seventh place, relegation to 2nd Deild followed in ninth place in 2018 , whereupon the merger was dissolved and FC Hoyvík took the place. As an independent club, the return to the 1st Deild succeeded with 1st place .
