Allan Mørkøre (born November 22, 1971 in Klaksvík ) is a former Faroese football player and today's coach .

Career

In the club

Mørkøre began his career at KÍ Klaksvík and made his debut in the first division on Matchday 7 of the 1988 season at the age of 16 in a 5-1 away defeat by HB Tórshavn . On the twelfth matchday he scored his first goal with the opening goal in the 2-1 away win against VB Vágur . In 1990 he won the cup final with KÍ against GÍ Gøta 6-1, a year later the championship on the side of Todi Jónsson , Jákup Mikkelsen and Kurt Mørkøre . In 1992 the cup final was lost 1-0 to HB Tórshavn. The first half of the season ran Mørkøre for B36 Tórshavn and then returned to KÍ, with whom he could win the 1994 Cup final 2-1 against B71 Sandur . In the summer of 1997 he moved to HB Tórshavn and won the championship a year later together with Jan Dam , Andrew av Fløtum , Hans Fróði Hansen , Jóhannis Joensen and Jens Erik Rasmussen . With the 2-0 victory in the cup final against KÍ Klaksvík, he managed the double . In 1999 and 2000 he also played briefly in Iceland for the first division club ÍB Vestmannaeyja . After a season with KÍ Klaksvík in 2002 he played again for three years for B36 Tórshavn and won the next championship last year together with Fróði Benjaminsen , Jákup Mikkelsen, Mikkjal Thomassen and Pól Thorsteinsson . Then Mørkøre went to AB Argir in the second division and reached promotion as second. The first half of 2007 he played again for B36, here he won the Supercup on penalties against HB Tórshavn, until the end of 2010 then again for AB, with whom he was relegated in 2007 in ninth place and then managed the direct promotion. In 2009 he was mainly active for the second team in the third division and achieved promotion as first place. In early 2011 he was briefly under contract with FC Hoyvík , the next two years with B71 Sandur in the second division, with which he was finally relegated. In the 2nd Deild , Mørkøre played a few more games for the third team from B36 Tórshavn in 2014 and 2015, and a final game for the second team from B36 in 2016.

European Cup

Mørkøre had his first of a total of 18 appearances in the European Cup in 1992/93 in the preliminary round of the Champions League when KÍ Klaksvík lost 3-1 at home to Skonto Riga . In qualifying for the 2002/03 UEFA Cup against Újpest FC , he scored both goals for KÍ in a 2-2 draw in the first leg, but lost the second leg 0-1. In total, he scored four goals in the European Cup. His last appearance was in the 2005/06 UEFA Cup when he played 2-2 in the second leg against FC Midtjylland .

National team

Mørkøre made his debut on September 12, 1990 in the still legendary 1-0 win in Landskrona against Austria in qualifying for the 1992 European Championship . He played a total of 54 times for the Faroe Islands. On October 10, 1990, he scored his only international goal against Denmark in the 4-1 defeat in the European Championship qualification in Copenhagen when he equalized. At the time of the goal, he was 18 years and 10 months old, making Allan Mørkøre the Faroese national team's youngest scorer to date . His last appearance was on June 6, 2001 in the qualifying game for the 2002 World Cup in the 6-0 defeat by Yugoslavia in when he came on for Julian Johnsson in the 72nd minute .

Coaching career

From 2008 to 2010 Mørkøre coached AB Argir , which he led to promotion to the first division in the first year. In 2010 he moved to league rivals B36 Tórshavn after the 19th match day . After the end of the season he left the club and coached the second team of HB Tórshavn in the second division the next year . For the next two years he was player-coach at B71 Sandur and was relegated to the third division last year. After a year-long hiatus, Mørkøre coached AB Argir's U-18 team in 2015 and finished seventh with them. In 2016 he looked after the U18s of FF Giza / FC Hoyvík , with whom he reached the penultimate place in preliminary group 1. After this engagement was ended, Mørkøre took over AB Argir II after the twelfth match day of the 2017 season and led them from last place to eighth position, which meant relegation.

Mørkøre has been looking after AB Argir's U21s since 2018. In his first season he became champion, a year later he took third place.
