Hans Fróði Hansen [ frɔujɪ ] (born August 25, 1975 in Leirvík , Faroe Islands ) is a former Faroese football player .

Soccer

Hans Fróði Hansen started his career at LÍF Leirvík . He made his debut in 1991 on the tenth game day in the second division in a 2-2 draw against ÍF Fuglafjørður , he played from the start. The next year he was also used in the second round of the Cup in the 4-0 away defeat against KÍ Klaksvík , he helped out here as a goalkeeper . Also in the league he played for a game as a goalkeeper, otherwise he was used sporadically as a defender . He scored his first goal on matchday 14 in a 1-1 draw in the away game against HB Tórshavn II . As the first in the table, they were promoted to the first division at the end of the season , in which Hansen was also increasingly used in the last third of the season. He made his major league debut on matchday seven in a 4-1 away win against TB Tvøroyri . He then moved to Breiðablik Kópavogur in the second Icelandic league and achieved promotion to the top division as the first in the table. In 2006, Hansen finally played one last time for LÍF Leirvík in the Faroese second division and acted as player-coach . With the club he reached third place. Finally he ran in the third division after a two-year break again for Víkingur Gøta III in two games and in 2012 for TB Tvøroyri II in five games. After promotion to the second division, he completed another four games.

European Cup

Hansen played 13 times in the European Cup, but failed to score a goal. He made his debut in 1996 for B68 Toftir in the UI Cup in a 4-0 home defeat against LASK Linz . He played the last game in 2002 for B68 in the UI Cup in the second leg against FC St. Gallen , which was lost 6-0 at home.

National team

Hans Fróði Hansen made his debut for the national team together with Jákup á Borg on August 19, 1998 in a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo , the game was lost 0-1. His only goal in 26 games, he scored on 5 June 1999 to his home turf in Toftir in the European Championship qualifier against Scotland in the 90th minute to 1: 1, which he called the greatest moment of his football career.

Coaching career
